3 Tips To Prepare For Professional Hot Tub Moving

Your indoor hot tub is your tucked-away treat to yourself when you need to relax and unwind. So, naturally, when you move, you will likely want to take your jacuzzi with you. Bringing in the professional help of a hot tub moving service is always recommended. These large tubs are exceptionally heavy, exceptionally awkward, and exceptionally hard to move. Even though you have made the move to get your hot tub moved, there are still a few things to handle in advance of the move to make sure the piece can be transitioned smoothly. Here are three tips to prepare for a hot tub move by professionals.

1. Remove the cover, dry it, and place it in a safe location

The hot tub cover helps insulate the hot water in the jacuzzi so it is ready to go when you are ready to sink into the heated water. However, during the move, the cover will only be in the way, especially if it is a detachable, soft version that simply folds over the tub when it is not in use. Go ahead and take the cover off the tub, clean it, dry it, and tuck it away in a safe place.

2. Drain and then clean the tub well, inside and out

Once you've taken care of the cover, go ahead and drain the water from your hot tub completely. You will want the tub to be clean and pristine for the move. Obviously, it will be nice to have a clean tub that's ready to fill once it is in the new place. However, you also want the hot tub to be clean so it does not cause issues during the move. For example, if there is slippery residue on the sides of the tub, it may be harder for the movers to handle.

3. Bring in a plumber to disconnect the tub if necessary

If you have your hot tub directly connected to the plumbing in your current home, it may be better to bring in a plumber to disconnect everything and close off the water valves. Hot tubs that are connected to your internal plumbing can be a little harder to disconnect from your own without causing damage or leaving the potential for a water leak. Some hot tub movers can take care of this process for you, so be sure to check before bringing in a secondary professional.
